Bright Realty's Holiday in the Plaza brought more than 2,500 guests to its Castle Hills Village Shops on Saturday, November 24. The free event offered holiday-themed, family-friendly activities for residents and neighbors and brought potential new retail customers into the neighborhood shopping village.

This year's festival saw the return of the popular Christmas monkey and added elements such as live reindeer, a toy soldier drumline, stilt walkers and Mrs. Claus Story Time. Tenants such as Design Time and Reading Ranch had booths at the event. Barbershop tenant, The Art of Handsome, hosted Mrs. Claus for her story readings.

"Our community events at the Village Shops provide enormous exposure for our Village Shops' tenants as they draw people from all over the area, and many are first time visitors to Castle Hills," said Eric Stanley, president and COO. "Many come for the event and stay later to enjoy dinner or drinks at one of the Village Shops' restaurants or make plans to return soon, once they see all of the unique eateries and shops we have."

Bright Realty partners with local businesses and the city to sponsor events at the retail destination throughout the year. This year, Village Shops' events are presented by the City of Lewisville, in partnership with Castle Hills developer Bright Realty and Platinum Sponsor Vector Security. Additional sponsors included American Legend Homes, Atmos Energy, Baylor Scott and White Medical Center Carrollton, CWD, Farmers Insurance/Michael Brock Agency, Freebirds World Burrito, Grande Communications, Green Meadows Landscaping, Hill & Wilkinson General Contractors, Infinity Landscape, Joy Pools, North Texas Building Services, Prime Construction Services, Primrose Schools, Renee Mears Realtors, Rotolo's Pizzeria, Southern Painting, The Goddard School for Early Childhood Education, and Winstead.

The Castle Hills Village Shops is home to many notable restaurants and eateries. Among its tenants are The London Baker, a world-class bakery run by celebrity baker Elizabeth Rowe who gained fame on Food Network's "Cake Wars." The Salty Cow offers artisanal meat and cheese boards; PI.E 3.14 Everyday Eatery specializes in signature pizzas; T.B.D. Kitchen is known for both its street and "posh" tacos; Kanzi Sushi & Hibachi serves a variety of fresh sushi options; Z's Wok is popular for its Chinese specialties; Ramen, Izakaya Akira offers ramen, sake and other Japanese dishes; and Sophia's Kitchen specializes in seasonal coffees, teas and pastries. The Grind, "a world class neighborhood burger joint," will open soon and serve craft burgers and beer.
